Council #9053 Awards

Family of the Month

For the month of July we are happy to announce our Special Family of the Month is Francis & Adrienne Celeste.

Before transferring to our Council in 2006, Frank was a 3rd Degree Brother Knight where he attended St. Bernard's College in Alabama. Since arriving in our area he is on one of our Tuesday Night Crab Teams and also works on the Sunday Morning Breakfast Program. To diversify a bit, he also has worked on the SpringFest "Beer Truck".

Frank was bom in New York City and later moved to Northvale, NJ, where he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and received his BA in Political Science. He then spent time in the U.S. Air Force stationed at a SAC base in Montana. He received an MA in Political Science from Fordham University and went on to the University of Maryland for Graduate Studies. Frank spent 30 years with the Federal Government as an Analyst with the Dept of the Navy, Dept of the Army and the National Security Agency (NSA). He retired from the Government in 1998 and began a career in Real Estate.

Adrienne was born and raised in Northvale, NJ. She graduated form Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Teaching Degree. After her first son was born she became a full time

mother. When her 3rd son was in school full time she resumed her teaching career at St. John the Evangelist in Severna Park, MD, where she taught Kindergarten for 19 years. Since coming to Delaware she has joined the K of C Ladies Auxiliary, worked on a Breakfast Team and helped on St. Agnes' Parish Children's Liturgy of the Word. She is also active with the Sons of Italy.

The Celeste's live in the hamlet of Derickson Pond in Frankford, DE, and attends St. Ann's Church. Adrienne is also a substitute teacher at the Delaware School of Arts in Selbyville. The Celeste's were married 38 years ago at St. Anthony's Church in Northvale, NJ. Needless to say both are "die hard" New York Yankee fans and New York Football Giants fans.

Knight of the Month

To begin our new Fraternal Year we are saluting Bill Breedlove as our Knight of the Month.

Bill was born and raised in Charleston, Illinois, graduated from Lou Wallace High School in Gary, Indiana, and graduated form Indiana University in 1952. Bill was in the Army Air Corps for 18 months and served as a Radio Operator in Germany. He has worked for the Army Map Service and then on to the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) until his retirement in 1990.

Bill joined our council in 1991 as a 3rd Degree Brother Knight from Prince George's Council in the Washington, DC area. He received his 4th Degree here in Ocean City.

Bill has served as our Council Treasurer for 9 years. He also served as Treasurer for our 4th Degree. Finally he was our Family Director for 2 years before turning this position over to our present Family Director. Bill was a regular worker on our Bingo Program for 14 years. He has also worked on the Tootsie Roll Program, Motorcycle & Car Raffles on the Boardwalk and the "Beer Truck" at SpringFest and SunFest.

Bill has served as a Eucharistic Minister at St. Mary's/Holy Savior Churches for 15 years. He served in the Choir for 6 years and was a "Money Counter" for 5 years. He is a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and helped start up the Holy Name Society. Bill has been in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 15 years and on the Board of directors of Diakonia for 10 years.

Bill lost his sight in 2005 due to Macular Degeneration and became involved with the "Blind Industries" of Maryland. He communicates with his family and friends Via the computer. He is currently learning keyboarding. He also enjoys working out with some of his Brother Knights (Richard Huettner, Roland Murray and Mike Barcus) in the PRMC Exercise Program.

Bill has been blessed with 2 "Guardian Angels" - his loving and devoted wife Joanne, the mother of his 8 children, and his caring friend, chauffeur and Best Buddy--John Sauer.

Bill, you are truly an inspiration to all your Brother Knights!
